How to Start a Book Collection on a Small Budget

November 9, 2018January 29, 2019Categories books4 Comments on How to Start a Book Collection on a Small Budget

For all of us who grew up wanting the library from "Beauty and the Beast", but aren't secretly rich Princes in the French countryside.

Follow me on Instagram!

Just finished this book this morning! I can’t believe how quickly I read this - it took less than 48 hours to go from cover to cover. It was recommended to me almost a year ago by a close friend and I always meant to get out on the waitlist for it at the library, but when I saw it in the shelf at a thrift store I just had to grab it.

It’s been a while since I’ve shared my Jane Eyre collection, so I figured today would be the perfect day to share this classic romance 🥰 I like to reread this books every year around this time, and I just added a new edition to my collection, which gives me the perfect excuse 😂. I’m up to 12 editions now, including one comic books version, which I adore.
Who is your favorite literary couple? I obviously love Jane and Rochester, but Colonel Brandon and Marianne from Sense and Sensibility are a close second for me. •

#ontheblog #bloggerlife #bloggersofinstagram #bloggergirl #booklover #bookworm #bookstagrammer #bookcommunity #bookwormsfeature #bibliophile #bookcollector #bookcollection #personallibrary #janeeyre #charlottebronte Rushing to get some more original work ready before my VERY FIRST art fair this weekend! I’m so excited for this experience, although I’m a bit bummed that my plan to get prints of my work to sell didn’t really work out (so expensive!). So instead I’m pushing myself to make more original paintings of various sizes to offer, which is good for creativity but admittedly is pretty stressful, not to mention it doesn’t leave much time for reading or writing fresh blog posts. I hope to have a post all about my experience at the fair up once it’s all over though, so fingers crossed that’s up by Monday! ⠀⠀
if you’re in the NYC area, click the link in my bio to RSVP for the fair! Totally free to come, and there are going to be a lot of great local artists there to support. I also made a KoFi account, so if you can’t come but still want to support me, consider leaving a tip! Thanks so much to you all for your support 🙏 •

#carveouttimeforart #creativelife #artjournal #createeveryday #artsupplies #makersmovement #creativityfound #instaart #paint #palette #womanartist #artbywomen I’ll admit that I was definitely drawn to this book because of its gorgeous cover, but once I realized it’s a spin off of Pride and Prejudice I was completely sold. I admit that I do love a good spin off novel - they really are just good excuses to dive back into a world you already love. This book looks at Mary Bennet, the most reserved of the Bennet sisters and the one mentioned the least in the book. ⠀⠀
Which Bennet sister is your favorite? As a girl named Liz who likes to read and go on walks, mine is a bit obvious 🙈

#booklover #bookworm #bookstagrammer #bookcommunity #bookwormsfeature #bibliophile It’s been a while so I thought I’d introduce myself to my new followers! 👋
My name is Liz, I’m 23 and I live in Brooklyn, NY. I work as an artist and graphic designer and love vintage/classic books 📚 •
My favorite book is a tie between Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte and The Hunchback of Notre Dame by Victor Hugo. I collect editions of both of them and have over 10 of each!
•
I have a blog where I write all about my favorite bookstores in the city, what I’m currently reading, and my art 🖼 •
Yes, I organize my bookcase my color 🙈 I know some people think that’s ridiculous but I can’t help it - it looks so nice! •
I want to get to know you more! Tell me your favorite book and where you’re from in the comments 👇🏻 😁 •

#bloggersofinstagram #bloggergirl #booknerd #bookcommunity #bookgram #readersofinstagram #bookishlove #goodreads #bookishfeature #creativemind #livecreatively #bookblogger #bookface Picked up three awesome books at the thrift store a while back and I just can’t stop staring at them 🥰 I’m excited to read another Virginia Woolf book (I’ve loved the past two I read), and I’m happy to start building a mini collection of art books. ⠀⠀
All this for only $3! Gotta love a used book haul 😉
